Create your ad units
Create one ad unit per format your app uses, copy its ID, and find your App ID.
An ad unit is a spot for an ad in your app. You create one for each format your app uses, on each platform. AdMob gives it an ID that looks like ca-app-pub-1234567890123456/1234567890: note the / in the middle.
Your app also has an App ID, which looks like ca-app-pub-1234567890123456~1234567890: this one has a ~. You need both.
Create your ad units
- In AdMob, open Apps, pick your app (iOS or Android), then open Ad units and click Add ad unit.
- Pick the format:
- Banner for the banner;
- Interstitial for the full-screen ad;
- Rewarded for the rewarded video.
- Give it a name you will recognise, like "Home banner" or "Extra life video". You can leave the other settings as they are.
- Click Create ad unit, then copy the ID shown, the one with a /. Keep it close: you will paste it in Bloxks.
- Create only the formats your app uses, then do the same for the other platform.
Done when you have, for each platform, one ad unit ID for each format you want.
Find your App ID
In Apps, pick your app, then open App settings: the App ID, the one with a ~, is at the top. Copy it as well, for each platform.
Good to know
- A brand-new ad unit can take up to 1 hour before it shows ads.
- Never use the sample IDs you find online, the ones Google provides for testing: Bloxks refuses them because they never earn anything.
- One ad unit per spot is enough to start. You can add more later, for example to compare two placements in AdMob’s reports.
