Create your AdMob account
Create a free AdMob account, then add your app once for iPhone and once for Android.
AdMob is free: all you need is a Google account. Allow 10 minutes.
1. Create your account
- Open admob.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
- Follow the steps: your country, your time zone and the currency you want to be paid in. Accept the terms.
Done when you see the AdMob home page, with the Apps menu on the left.
2. Add your app, once per platform
For Google, the iPhone version and the Android version of your app are two different apps. Add your app once for each platform you publish on: each one gets its own App ID.
- In AdMob, open Apps, then click Add app.
- Pick the platform: iOS for iPhone, or Android.
- Google asks: "Is the app listed on a supported app store?" Not published yet? Answer No: you will link it after publication. Already on the App Store or Google Play? Answer Yes and search for it.
- Type your app’s name, then confirm with Add app.
- Your app is on both stores? Start again with the other platform.
Done when your app shows up in Apps, once per platform.
3. What happens next
- A new app first shows Requires review or Getting ready. That’s normal: Google reviews it once it is published and linked to its store listing, usually within a few days.
- Until then, Google may show few ads, or none. You link the app to its store listing after publication: see Publish an app with ads.
- Fill in your payment details now, in the Payments menu: without them, your account is not verified and your apps stay Getting ready, with no ads.
